Il confie à l'humanité la vie, les talents et les ressources en tant que fidèles serviteurs, et non en tant que propriétaires. Dieu nous demande de porter des fruits porteurs de sens, tels que la foi, l'amour et la justice. Il ne veut pas que nous gardions nos talents et notre amour à des fins ou pour des raisons égoïstes. Nous sommes souvent appelés à partager les talents qui nous ont été donnés au service des autres ; si nous ne le faisons pas, nous risquons de perdre le privilège du royaume de Dieu, tandis que ceux qui sont humbles l'obtiendront.

From Kindergarten to Grade 4, students hit the course with plenty of energy and enthusiasm, running in support of cancer research while learning about Terry Fox, his determination and the difference one person can make.
Forty-five years after the first Terry Fox Run, Terry’s story continues to bring Canadians together, and we are proud of our staff and students for being part of that tradition.

We are grateful to Fr. René for celebrating Mass with our students and helping begin the day centred in Christ. Students then took part in group discussions exploring what it means to be Chosen by God, Made for More, and the life of St. Kateri Tekakwitha, Patron Saint of Indigenous Peoples.
The day continued with lunch, games and Praise & Worship before each school’s IGNITE team came together to plan how they will help lead faith formation within their school communities throughout the year.
We can’t wait to see how these student leaders bring their faith, ideas and energy back to their schools!

Today, staff across Lakeland Catholic came together for Pathways to Excellence, a Division-wide professional learning day grounded in faith, relationship and a shared commitment to the students we serve.
The day began with faith formation centred on St. Gregory the Great and Dorothy Day, inviting staff to reflect on their vocation as Catholic educators and the responsibility that comes with being entrusted with the learning, growth and well-being of students. Through their examples of servant leadership, compassion and accompaniment, staff reflected on what it means to truly know the students in their care, to recognize the dignity of each person and to see Christ in those before us. It was an opportunity to consider how our Catholic faith shapes not only what we do, but how we show up for one another and for our students each day.
Staff then came together in Communities of Practice, creating dedicated space to learn with and from colleagues, share expertise and engage in the thoughtful, collaborative work that strengthens teaching and learning across our schools.
As we approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the afternoon placed a meaningful focus on Indigenous Relations and Indigenous Ways of Knowing. Staff participated in a Division-wide session with Jason J Bigcharles, Indigenous storyteller and leader in the development of Indigenous Culture Based Learning, before continuing their learning within schools alongside Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers and community partners.
Pathways to Excellence reflects the kind of learning we value at Lakeland Catholic: faith-filled, relational and purposeful. This time allows our staff to deepen their vocation as Catholic educators, learn alongside one another, build meaningful relationships and better understand the students and communities they are called to serve.

Who did the Father's will...the son who changed his mind and obeyed. A simple yet powerful message today, actions speak louder than words. It is never too late to turn to God. Saying yes to God and doing His will is what matters in the end.

Qui a fait la volonté du Père... le fils qui a changé d'avis et qui a obéi. Un message simple mais puissant aujourd'hui : les actes parlent plus fort que les mots. Il n'est jamais trop tard pour se tourner vers Dieu. Dire oui à Dieu et accomplir sa volonté, voilà ce qui compte à la fin.

Today, Jesus shares the parable of the workers in the Vineyard. He tells us that God's grace and salvation are given to us freely based on His divine generosity, not on our status or merit. The known phrase of "the last shall be first, and the first shall be last" reminds us that God values a humble heart, not entitlement. All are promised His mercy.

Aujourd'hui, Jésus partage la parabole des ouvriers de la vigne. Il nous enseigne que la grâce et le salut de Dieu nous sont offerts gratuitement, fondés sur Sa générosité divine et non sur notre statut ou nos mérites. La célèbre phrase « les derniers seront les premiers, et les premiers seront les derniers » nous rappelle que Dieu valorise un cœur humble plutôt que l'esprit de supériorité. Sa miséricorde est promise à tous.
Bus safety came to life today at École Notre Dame Elementary School as our Kindergarten and Grade 3 students welcomed Mr. Justin and his puppet sidekick for an energetic, hands-on lesson!
With plenty of giggles and fun along the way, students learned and practised important bus safety skills, from getting on and off the bus safely and staying seated to listening to the driver, being aware of their surroundings and knowing what to do in an emergency.
Most importantly, students learned that everyone has a role to play in keeping the ride safe. Following bus rules and routines helps drivers stay focused on the road and helps ensure every student gets where they need to go safely.
The lesson also connects to our Catholic Social Teaching focus this month, Human Dignity. Learning to protect ourselves and others, showing respect and looking out for one another are meaningful ways we recognize the value and dignity of every person.
