Lakeland Catholic Schools Mourn Pope Francis
Novena for the Repose of His Holiness (Day 5)
Merciful and loving God, We come before You with hearts full of gratitude and sorrow as we remember Your servant, Pope Francis. You called him to be a shepherd to Your people, a voice for the poor, and a sign of Your mercy to the world. As we entrust him to Your eternal care, we ask You to welcome him into the joy of Your heavenly kingdom. Grant him peace, and give us strength to carry forward the light of his witness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Defender of Creation: We remember his call to care for creation. May we take up the challenge of Laudato Si’ i (Pope Francis’ call to care for the environment in our daily lives).
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory Be…
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, Through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

"Let us ask the Lord for this grace; that our hearts become free and filled with light, so that we can rejoice as children of God. " - Pope Francis

Easter Sunday - With hearts full of joy, we celebrate the glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of our Christian Catholic faith. Easter Sunday proclaims the triumph of life over death, offering us hope, renewal, and the promise of new beginnings, as Christ's victory assures us of our own.
Easter Blessings to our ÉNDE families.

Good Friday - Today is a day of solemn reflection, marking the day Jesus willingly suffered and died on the cross for our salvation; Good Friday invites us to contemplate the immense love and sacrifice that Christ made for humanity, offering us forgiveness and the promise of eternal life.

Holy Thursday - On this sacred day, we commemorate the Last Supper, where Jesus shared His Body and Blood with His disciples, instituting the Eucharist as the central sacrament of our faith and giving us the commandment to love and serve one another. Today Jesus also exemplifies the importance of being humble through the act of washing the disciples feet.

Palm Sunday commemorates the entrance of Christ into Jerusalem, during which palm branches were placed in his path, before his arrest on Holy Thursday and his crucifixion on Good Friday. It thus marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of Lent.

Tomorrow, Thursday April 9th, we will wear blue to show our support for Autism Awareness Month.

Sunday Gospel - Today we learn a valuable lesson that Jesus is always ready and willing to forgive us, and extend His grace. We have all sinned, and it is not our place to judge others.

Sunday Gospel - The lesson from this parable is that, the owner of the fig trees wanted to chop it down as it was not producing fruit, Jesus tells him to give the tree one more year. Explaining that God is merciful and will delay judgement, always giving us time to repent and follow Him, but we need to ensure we do repent regularly and come to follow Him.
