As our teacher and example, Jesus showed us that peace is built through love, understanding, forgiveness, and respect for one another.
This month, we reflect on how we can be peacemakers in our schools, homes, and communities.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." — Matthew 5:9

One of École Notre Dame High School's most cherished traditions continued today as the Class of 2026 gathered for their annual graduation pep rally and grad walk through the community.
The day began with a pep rally, where graduates received plant clippings from the school's living wall, presented by Superintendent Sheldon Germain. The plant clippings serve as a meaningful symbol of growth as graduates prepare to begin the next chapter of their journey. Graduates then took part in the traditional Grad Walk, visiting École Notre Dame Elementary School, the Bonnyville Lodge, and École Dr. Bernard Brosseau School, where they were greeted with cheers, high-fives, handmade posters, and well wishes from students, staff, residents, and community members.

École Notre Dame High School recently brought the joy of music to younger students during a special band performance at École Notre Dame Elementary School!
ÉNDE students were engaged and excited as high school musicians shared their talents and passion for music through an energetic performance that had students smiling, clapping, and fully tuned in.
One of the highlights came when Mr. deSousa invited a student volunteer from the audience to conduct the band while he joined the musicians himself — creating a fun and memorable moment for students and staff alike.
Thank you to the ENDH band students and staff for sharing their gifts and helping inspire the next generation of musicians!

Our incredible EAL students at Notre Dame Elementary are becoming language architects!
Students have been practicing deconstructing sentences into key parts of speech by identifying nouns, verbs, clauses, and more to better understand how English sentences work. Through this engaging, hands-on learning process, they are strengthening foundational literacy skills while building confidence in reading and writing.
Using these language building blocks, students then rearrange words and ideas to create new sentences and original narratives — developing creativity, critical thinking, and growing language skills along the way.
We are so proud of their enthusiasm, perseverance, and learning success!

As we celebrate Catholic Education Week (May 9–15, 2026), we invite you to reflect on the message from the Catholic Bishops of Alberta, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories.
Rooted in this year’s theme, “Anchored in Christ, Beacon of Hope,” the letter speaks to the gift of Catholic education and the shared role of families, parishes, and schools in forming students in faith.
